Win this Dwight Howard autographed 8×10

UPDATE: Congratulations to our winner, Bryan!
Thank you to everyone who left a comment, this was fun. Let’s do another giveaway next month.

Yesterday I was finally feeling better after a nasty cold and I pondered how I could snap myself out of a five-day funk. By the end of the hour-long train ride home from work, it came to me. The first Autograph University giveaway!

As a special thank you to my readers I’m giving away this Dwight Howard autographed 8×10 from my personal collection. Dwight signed this for me outside the Orlando Magic team hotel in Boston a few years ago and I don’t have to tell you that this is an awesome item.

Dwight Howard autographed 8x10 giveaway

On Sunday evening, right after Christina Aguilera finishes singing the national anthem at Super Bowl XLV, I will randomly choose a winner (each comment will be assigned a number and I will use an online generator) and post the result on this page. One comment per person please.

Have fun and good luck!

Dwight is a true all around player. I remember when he first got drafted I was like is he really #1? But the guy just proves year in and year out why he was so deserving of that selection. Dwight is basically guaranteed to average a double-double every year (Pts+Reb) and also plays incredible defense. He lives up to the whole “superman” thing, because look at how the dude is built, he is a complete monster. It is not common in the NBA to see guys who concentrate that much on playing D, which really makes you appreciate watching him play. Dwight plays like he is really having fun out there. He represents a great role model, which in today’s world of pro sports can be greatly appreciated.

What i like most about Dwight is his defense. Hes a guy that can impact a game without scoring. He plays defense like players did back in the day. Hes right in your face and when hes not blocking a shot, hes altering it. You know it has to be in a scorers head when he drives down the lane…uh-oh! WHERE IS HE? Un-related to his playing ability i think Dwights hella cool + funny.

Dwight’s defense and rebounding are elite, his offensive game is emerging, and he is a beast.

his defensive skills, his presence under the hoop and just about everything else

That fact that the dude is a beast, I cant wait for the Magic to overtake the Heat for the division.

  • Matty February 2, 2011, 11:53 am

He loves the game and has fun playing it.

The way he plays for the team and not for himself, and his defensive skills are unbelieveable.

  • Nick February 2, 2011, 1:07 pm

He isn’t afraid to throw elbows and get dirty if necessary.

  • Jake February 2, 2011, 1:18 pm

He’s a monster and he know’s that it’s his court and won’t let others get an advantage. And plus he’s Superman

bc he’s a serious Christian and yet aggressive! & passionate about winning (not just “how you play the game”)!!

He’s massive……..covered in muscles. He’s coordinated, and he’s way faster than everyone else. He’s intimidating, and banging against a guy that big all night disheartens guys. He’s gone from a young player with a lot of tools in his toolbag, to someone who is running the construction site. The guy can throw down.

Dwight’s Dunks and fun attitude for the game

My son had the chance to be the Magic ballboy while we were in Orlando two years ago. When all the players went in after shoot around. Dwight called out to my son “Hey little man, I need someone to rebound for me while I work on my free throws.’ My son was in awe out there on the court, 1-on-1 with his favorite player. I appreciate the fact that even though he has attained superstar status he still works on the parts of the game where he needs improvement (and he is a class act). he is trying to improve his game any way he can.

He is an aggresive player on offense and defense. His love for the games and massive dunks makes it fun to watch B-ball again. He never gives up and he is a great role model. Not only that but he makes his team better, without DHoward the Magic wouldn’t be who they are.

I admire the way he seems to enjoy playing the game. He’s also an absolute beast. He continues to work to make his game better.

What i like about Dwight is the fact that he takes care of his fans, he is always a super cool guy and he is humble unlike somebody like lebron or kobe. Funny story about Mr Howard, a few graphers were waiting outside of the hotel in michigan before a game he comes out and hes called over, he signs for everyone and proceeds to go inside. about 15 minutes later a guy comes out with a bunch of burgers and fries from the hotel restaurant. dwight had bought everyone lunch to everyones surprise. Unfortunatly i wasnt there that day. :( but ever since hearing that story i have been a fan. WHAT A GUY. i would love to add a signature of his to my collection. thanks for having this contest.

I like his ability to block shots whenever

  • Sid February 3, 2011, 3:19 pm

The best thing about his game is that he is a hard worker. He doesn’t really give up on a play, he doesn’t pout when he doesn’t get the ball or if he gets hacked with no call, he’ll keep playing. Sure, you have to stand up for yourself on missed calls but it is controlled and he’ll go hard the next play. He really shows a love for the game. He is a player that loves to be playing in the NBA and feels that it is a privilege, which shows with his rigorous workouts and personality towards the fans. He feels that it is his job to prepare for every game as well as prepare during the off-season and feels that he owes the fans this much. All in all, I just feel that he is the perfect athlete because he has the social personality to get along with everybody but still gets the job done and is ferocious defensive beast once he steps on the court.

His defensive presence under the basket, also his ability to average a double double every night out is amazing.
